Wow, we got to Rio, but were a bit scared at first. Our friends had an attempted mugging in daylight, and moved to a better area, so we too decided to stay well clear of Copacobana. We had a bad experience in Salvador with a taxi driver who tried cheating us and were saved by some nice guys. We had a nice quiet Sunday and went to a cinema in the best area and Jennifer Anisten s new movie in english. In the middle of the show, in a big fight in the front row breaks out. Suddenly the guy pulls out a gun, directly in our line, and 2000 people start sprinting to the door. I was watching, and Bea pulled me so hard I fell to the floor. They stopped the film for ten minutes, security came in and then it carried on. Since then things have been good, but we dont take our camera out much. We are in the safe part of Rio which is fine, and that was a one off occurence in these parts. Here is a photo of the view of Rio from the Sugar Loaf. Donc nous sommes bien arrivés à Rio.... On a loué un appart pour 10 jours et on a bien profité!!! Nous voila en haut du Pao do Azucar, avec vue de Rio au fond...
